About
Welcome to Yorkshire Wolds Dyslexia Service
Unlocking potential through insight and understanding.
At YWDS, I believe that a child's learning profile is more than just a label. Every learner has a unique cognitive fingerprint, and sometimes the traditional classroom 'fit' isn't enough to showcase what each child is truly capable of.
As a dyslexia specialist, I look beyond the surface of reading and writing. With my training, I can dive into the mechanics of learning — from phonological processing and working memory to the complex world of executive function. My goal isn't just to identify challenges, but to provide a roadmap to success.
Natalie Fisher
Natalie lives in Pocklington, East Yorkshire, and has worked with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities for 15 years. She has worked across primary, secondary and specialist educational settings, supporting children and young people with SpLDs, autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and severe and complex needs. Natalie has worked in NHS children's speech and language therapy and in Local Authority educational psychology, giving her a unique, holistic approach to supporting children and young people.

Why choose YWDS?
Local, evidence-based — and lived experience
I understand the local educational landscape and the specific hurdles families face. My approach is rooted in evidence-based cognition and learning theory, but comes from the empathy and care that only a local, independent practitioner can provide. I am dyslexic myself and appreciate the challenges that children and adults alike face day to day.
